Karen is a writer and trained counselling therapist, including creating and managing an internal counselling service for PolyGram Records (now Universal). A unique voice on the board, Karen had no interest in football whatsoever before encountering Lewes’ equality initiative in 2017. Since then she regularly gives talks at business and sports conferences on equality in football and its effect on driving gender equality in the wider world.
Imogen Baird
Senior Consultant, Perrett Laver
Imogen is a Senior Consultant at global executive search firm, Perrett Laver. Ranked in the top three of global search firms focused on mission-driven sectors and themes, and ranked in the top 30 of all search firms worldwide, Perrett Laver have significant expertise supporting leadership transitions across sports, cultural, educational, research, healthcare, philanthropic, and non-profit organisations.
Imogen leads Perrett Laver’s Sports Practice, which was founded with the resolute ambition to appoint and support leaders who will be catalysts for the positive outcomes sport enables across our societies. Her work includes the current Sport England and UK Sport Diversity in Non-Executive Leadership campaign, creating a network of board ready candidates to support the diversity goals of the sector. Other clients have included London Sport, England Rugby, British Equestrian Federation, the Harlequins Foundation, the Invictus Games Foundation, and the Big Lottery Fund. Imogen also runs Perrett Laver’s Corporate Responsibility Team, and outside of work is a Governor of Rutherford House School.
